Maning P. Velez
A native of Cebu, Velez' most remembered song came from a partnership with playwright Piux Cabahar. This is "Sa Kabukiran", from the theater play about a young mountain girl with the name of Fifi. This song was made famous by movie personality Lilian Velez and performers like Nora Hermosa and Elsa Oria, and turned into a classical piece by Conching Rosal. In the early 1980s, "Sa Kabukiran" was the lead cut of a LP recording by Susan Fuentes.
