Christmas Bonus lyrics -Aegis

Christmas Bonus
Aegis

La la la…

Sa tuwing darating ang kapaskuhan
Ang Christmas bonus, ating inaasahan
Sa mga kumpanyang pinagta-trabahuan

CHORUS 1

CHORUS 2
Kaya’t ibigay n’yo na
Ang aming Christmas bonus
Nang maging maligaya tayong lahat
Sa araw ng pasko

[Repeat CHORUS 1]
[Repeat 1st stanza]
[Repeat CHORUS 1]
[Repeat CHORUS 2]

CHORUS 3
Kaya’t ibigay n’yo na
Ang aming Christmas bonus
Nang maging masagana
Ang pagsalubong sa bagong taon.

MI PRIMERA INSPIRACIÓN-poem by Jose Rizal

MI PRIMERA INSPIRACIÓN

This poem was written by José Rizal at age nine or by his nephew, Antonio Lopez-Rizal (Narcisa's son) whose handwriting was similar to his uncle's.

¿Porqué exhalan a porfía

del cáliz dulces olores

las embalsamadas flores

en este festivo dia?

Y ¿porqué, en la selva amena,

se oye dulce melodía

que asemeja la armonía

de la arpada filomena?

¿Porqué en la mullida grama

las aves, al son del viento,

exhalan meloso acento

y saltan de rama en rama?

Y la fuente cristalina,

formando dulce murmullo,

My First Inspiration -English translation of Rizal's Mi Primera Inspiracion

My First Inspiration -English translation of Mi Primera Inspiracion

by José Rizal

(A Translation from the Spanish by Nick Joaquin)
For the Spanish version go to Mi Primera Inspiracion

Why falls so rich a spray
of fragrance from the bowers
of the balmy flowers
upon this festive day?

Why from woods and vales
do we hear sweet measures ringing
that seem to be the singing
of a choir of nightingales?

Why in the grass below
do birds start at the wind's noises,
unleashing their honeyed voices
as they hop from bough to bough?

Why should the spring that glows
its crystalline murmur be tuning
to the zephyr's mellow crooning
as among the flowers it flows?

Why seems to me more endearing,
more fair than on other days,
the dawn's enchanting face
among red clouds appearing?

The reason, dear mother, is
they feast your day of bloom:
the rose with its perfume,
the bird with its harmonies.

And the spring that rings with laughter
upon this joyful day
with its murmur seems to say:
"Live happily ever after!"

And from that spring in the grove
now turn to hear the first note
that from my lute I emote
to the impulse of my love!

Education Gives Luster To The Motherland-English translation of Rizal's poem Por La Educacion

Education Gives Luster To The Motherland
The Translator is Unknown

For the Spanish version, please see Por La Educacion

Wise education, vital breath
Inspires an enchanting virtue;
She puts the Country in the lofty seat
Of endless glory, of dazzling glow,
And just as the gentle aura's puff
Do brighten the perfumed flower's hue:
So education with a wise, guiding hand,
A benefactress, exalts the human band.

Man's placid repose and earthly life
To education he dedicates
Because of her, art and science are born
Man; and as from the high mount above
The pure rivulet flows, undulates,
So education beyond measure
Gives the Country tranquility secure.

Where wise education raises a throne
Sprightly youth are invigorated,
Who with firm stand error they subdue
And with noble ideas are exalted;
It breaks immortality's neck,
Contemptible crime before it is halted:
It humbles barbarous nations
And it makes of savages champions.

And like the spring that nourishes
The plants, the bushes of the meads,
She goes on spilling her placid wealth,
And with kind eagerness she constantly feeds,
The river banks through which she slips,
And to beautiful nature all she concedes,
So whoever procures education wise
Until the height of honor may rise.

From her lips the waters crystalline
Gush forth without end, of divine virtue,
And prudent doctrines of her faith
The forces weak of evil subdue,
That break apart like the whitish waves
That lash upon the motionless shoreline:
And to climb the heavenly ways the people
Do learn with her noble example.

In the wretched human beings' breast
The living flame of good she lights
The hands of criminal fierce she ties,
And fill the faithful hearts with delights,
Which seeks her secrets beneficient
And in the love for the good her breast she incites,
And it's th' education noble and pure
Of human life the balsam sure.

And like a rock that rises with pride
In the middle of the turbulent waves
When hurricane and fierce Notus roar
She disregards their fury and raves,
That weary of the horror great
So frightened calmly off they stave;
Such is one by wise education steered
He holds the Country's reins unconquered.

His achievements on sapphires are engraved;
The Country pays him a thousand honors;
For in the noble breasts of her sons
Virtue transplanted luxuriant flow'rs;
And in the love of good e'er disposed
Will see the lords and governors
The noble people with loyal venture
Christian education always procure.

And like the golden sun of the morn
Whose rays resplendent shedding gold,
And like fair aurora of gold and red
She overspreads her colors bold;
Such true education proudly gives
The pleasue of virtue to young and old
And she enlightens out Motherland dear
As she offers endless glow and luster.

To My Fellow Children-English translation of Rizal's poem sa Aking Mga Kabata

To My Fellow Children

translated by Frank C. Laubach

For the originalTagalog version, go to Sa Aking Mga Kabata

Whenever people of a country truly love

The language which by heav'n they were taught to use

That country also surely liberty pursue

As does the bird which soars to freer space above.

For language is the final judge and referee

Upon the people in the land where it holds sway;

In truth our human race resembles in this way

The other living beings born in liberty.

Whoever knows not how to love his native tongue

Is worse than any best or evil smelling fish.

To make our language richer ought to be our wish

The same as any mother loves to feed her young.

Tagalog and the Latin language are the same

And English and Castilian and the angels' tongue;

And God, whose watchful care o'er all is flung,

Has given us His blessing in the speech we calim,

Our mother tongue, like all the highest tht we know

Had alphabet and letters of its very own;

But these were lost -- by furious waves were overthrown

Like bancas in the stormy sea, long years ago.

Carinosa-Maria Clara Dance

Cariñosa (IPA: [ˌkariˈɲosa]) is a flirtatious Philippine group dance in the Maria Clara suite of Philippine folk dances where the fan or handkerchief plays an instrumental roll as it places the couple in a hard-to-get romance scenario. Despite popular belief, Cariñosa has always been the national dance of the Philippines, whereas the Tinikling is just a worldwide favorite.

BAYAN KO lyrics

Bayan Ko
Original Tagalog lyrics by Jose Corazon de Jesus
Melody by Constancio de Guzman.

Ang bayan kong Pilipinas
Lupain ng ginto't bulaklak
Pag-ibig ang sa kanyang palad
Nag-alay ng ganda't dilag.
At sa kanyang yumi at ganda
Dayuhan ay nahalina
Bayan ko, binihag ka
Nasadlak sa dusa.

Ibon mang may layang lumipad
Kulungin mo at umiiyak
Bayan pa kayang sakdal dilag
Ang di magnasang makaalpas!
Pilipinas kong minumutya
Pugad ng luha ko't dalita
Aking adhika,
Makita kang sakdal laya!

Singkil-Muslim Dance

Singkil (or Sayao sa Kasingkil)falls under Muslim dances. It is a famous Philippine dance of the Maguindanao people, but was popularized by the nearby Maranao peoples of Lake Lanao and later the Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company.

singkil

videocredit: Masterscribble

Also known as the Princess Dance or the Royal Maranao Fan Dance, the dance is based on the Maranao interpretation of the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana: the Darangen. The Singkil narrates a scene in which Sita (Putri Gandingan) escapes her abductor, the demon king Ravana and is lost in the forests of Alangka, thereupon being found by her husband, Prince Rama. Interesting to note is that in the original Ramayana epic, Rama selects Hanuman, the Hindu monkey-god, to find Sita on his behalf; the fact that in the Singkil it is Rama (Rajah Bantugan) who finds her suggests a modification of the original Hindu narration in order to agree with monotheistic Islamic ideology.

Kasingkil refers to the art of moving one’s feet in and out of two clicking bamboo poles in imitation of Putri Gandingan who gracefully avoided the falling trees brought about by an earthquake.

Performers would therefore gracefully step in and out of bamboo poles, arranged in crisscross fashion while manipulating either fans or simply their bare hands.Played at celebrations and festivals, traditionally the dance was performed by a girl of royal blood intend on advertising herself to would-be-suitors for her future marriage.

The dance is said to have been named after either the leg bracelets or anklets of silver, nickel or brass with chiming bells of the same name or the act of voluntarily or accidentally entangling on one’s feet in either vines or tall grass.

AKO'Y KAMPUPOT

AKO'Y KAMPUPOT
Lyrics by Maning P. Velez

Ako'y kampupot
Na bagong sikat
Ang halimuyak
Sadyang laganap
Kaligayahan sa bawa't oras
Man din ang nais
Tanging paglingap

Kaya't noong minsan
Ay napakinggan
Isang binatang
Nananambitan
Puso kong taglay
Lubhang pihikan
Ay narahuyo sa panawagan.

Refrain:

Nasaan yung pangarap
Ng paglalambingan
Tangan na ng aking hirang
Alay ay kaligayahan
Kay tamis nga naman
Mabuhay 'ta sa pagmamahal
Kung ang ligaya ay makakamtam
Sa habang buhay.

Maalaala Mo Kaya

MAALAALA MO KAYA?
Constancio De Guzman

Huwag mong sabihing ikaw'y hamak
kahit na isang mahirap,
Pagka't ang tangi kong pagibig
ganyan ang hinahanap.

Aanhin ko ang kayamanan
kung ang puso'y salawahan,
Nais ko'y pagibig na tunay
at walang kamatayan.

Koro:

Maalaala mo kaya
ang sumpa mo sa akin,
Na ang pagibig mo ay
sadyang di magmamaliw.
Kung nais mong matanto,
buksan ang aking puso
At tanging larawan mo
ang doo'y nakatago.

Di ka kaya magbago
sa iyong pagmamahal?
Hinding-hindi giliw ko
hanggang sa libingan
O. kay sarap mabuhay
lalo na't may lambingan
Ligaya sa puso ko
ay di na mapaparam.

KATAKATAKA

KATAKATAKA
by Santiago S. Suarez

Kataka-takang mahibang
ang katulad ko sa iyo
Biru-biro ang simula
ang wakas pala ay ano?
Aayaw-ayaw pa ako
ngunit 'yan ay di totoo
Dahil sa iyo puso kong ito'y binihag mo
(Repeat)

Alaala ka maging gabi't araw
Alipinin mo't walang kailangan
Marinig ko lang sa labi mo, hirang
Na ako'y iibigin lagi habang buhay.

ROSAS PANDAN- Tagalog Version

ROSAS PANDAN-Tagalog Version
Visayan Folksong

Dalaga ay parang rosas
Bumabango 'pag namumukadkad
Habang hinahagkan ng araw
Lalong gumaganda ang kulay.

At ang ngumingiting talulot
Nilalapitan ng mga bubuyog
Ang mutyang iyong nililiyag
Ay tulad din pala ng rosas.

Kahit na umula't kumidlat
Kay ganda rin ng rosas
Lalong sumasariwa
Sa tubig ng paglingap.

Nguni't pag binagyo't ununos
Ang rosas ng pag-irog
Sawi ang pagsuyong
Nilanta nang paglimot.

Ganyan ang dalagang
Sawi sa kanyang irog.

Pamulinawen-Tagalog version

Pamulinawen (Tagalog Version)
Lyrics by Pastor de Jesus

Huwag kang magtampo
Iyon ay biro lamang
Di na uulit
Manalig ka Hirang
Kung galit ka pa
Parusahang lubusan
At 'yong asahang
Hindi magdaramdam

Tunay ang aking pagibig
At hindi biru-biro lamang
Ang puso ko'y sa iyo
Huwag kang magalinlangan
At kung kulang pa rin
Ay kunin mo pa yaring buhay
'Yan ay tanda ng
Sukdulang pagmamahal

Kung galit ka pa
Parusahang lubusan
At 'yong asahang
Hindi magdaramdam

Tunay ang aking pagibig
At hindi biru-biro lamang
Ang pso ko'y sa iyo
Huwag kang magalinlangan
At kung kulang pa rin
Ay kunin mo pa yaring buhay
'Yan ay tanda
ng sukdulang pagmamahal.
